INDIANA FEVER! DO YOU HAVE FEVER!

IT’S OUR TIME NOW! IT’S OUR TIME NOW! IT’S OUR TIME NOW!

Today was Indiana Fever Day at SJOA. The mascot, Freddy Fever, made a special appearance. We celebrated by making Indiana Fever signs, having a pep rally and doing lots of cheers. We wish the Fever all the luck as they begin their journey to wining the national title. GO FEVER!!!!!!!!!

Students in the fourth and fifth grade will participate in a Math Pentathlon Competition in April. Math Pentathlon is a series of 5 games that increase problem solving. We will practice the games in class and those who want to go to the tournament in April will have an opportunity to compete against other students in Indiana and Ohio. I will need parent volunteers to help out with the tournament in April. If you are interested in volunteering or you simply want to learn more about the games, St. Joan of Arc is holding a training session this Saturday from 8:30-2:30. It is free to SJOA parents. Thank you in advance for supporting your child in this great experience.

Money Bus will be here on October 16th. Thank you parents for volunteering to help!

Students will have a math test on adding and subtracting whole numbers and money on Wednesday, September 30. Students will be given a review sheet on Monday! Please continue to practice math facts on a nightly basis.

The G.R.E.A.T. program will begin Monday, September 28. Officer Gurnell will be here to teach kids about gangs and bullying. Please watch for letters to come home each week in the Thursday Folders.

Students will not have a vocabulary unit next week. Instead students will be given a list of 12 commonly misspelled words in the fourth grade. Students will be assessed over the spelling of these words on Friday.
